COOKING PANCAKES

In Britain, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and Australia people celebrate Pancake Day. This year Pancake Day is on Tuesday February 16th. This day, called Shrove Tuesday (martes de Carnaval), is an opportunity for fun, for people to eat lots of pancakes at home and to participate in races while flipping pancakes from frying pans, often to raise money for charity.
Pancake Day has its origins around 1445. Tradition says that a woman was cooking pancakes on Shrove Tuesday when she heard the church bell calling people to confession. She ran to the church in her apron with her frying pan. In the past Christians went to confession on Shrove Tuesday (the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of the 40 day season of fasting called tent). They also ate rich food that would be impossible to eat again till Easter, such as milk, fats and eggs.
Pancakes are made with flour, salt, eggs, milk, butter and sugar. If you want to learn how to cook a pancake try this game.
